A Book Recomendation (and a very long back story)

     Back Story: Last night I attempted to convince the husbandman to buy me a book since I was stuck killing time at Borders (which is a bad move for our bank account, we have a thing for books as seen here.) Usually I get talked out of them fairly easily.  But this time I had a game plan.
     I won this debate and with a single phrase. This was one of our intense, non verbal debates. He walks up to me, I'm wearing the biggest, sheepish grin known to man and clutching a book. He puts a hand out for the book with a raised eyebrow, and I sideline him with a very simple sentence that I'm pretty sure will have this book in my possession forever.
     What was that awesome and mighty phrase you may ask.  I'll tell you, "turn to page 32." (yeah, doesn't seem all that convincing, but just wait.)  He looks at me like I'm crazy (he does that a lot) and starts to tell me how silly I must be to think that showing him a single page of this book will convince him to buy me a unplanned present this close to Valentines Day.  He gets out about five words and caught fast by a detailed recipe for the biggest, warmest, most delicious cinnamon rolls ever. I see it in his face as he stops mid-word.  I've got him! (and the book.)

     I feel a little guilty at this point (yes even through my triumph) because this was a little sneaky of me, and more than a little low.  He can't resist cinnamon rolls and I know it.  However this doesn't end the happy dance and skipping up to the register.
     You may be wondering what this book was, that I was so willing to use my secret weapon for.  It is my new favorite.  On of the blogs I found through my last book recommendation (Blogging for Bliss) and then promptly fell in love with was Farm Chicks (I am most definitely as farm chick.)  And they happen to have a cookbook out that is not only a cookbook, it is a craft inspirer, a homage to all things vintage, and better for the soul than chicken noodle soup.

     If you find this book and love aprons, antiques, stencils, country living, and of course food, you should jump on it (not literally please, the cover is much too pretty, and in the top left corner it even has a picture of my secret weapon.)  It has family tested recipes, love stories, junking finds, an apron stencil, cupcake clip art, and there is even a one year subscription to Country Living included in the price. This is a must read, and even if you don't cook, the Farm Chick's stories, pictures, and easy to follow recipes might have you tying on an apron and dusting off your mixing bowl.
