tutorial coming soon

I was in the middle of writing up a rice bag heating pad tutorial, when I discovered that we were out of rice. :(  So after tomorrow's Walmart trip, I will have my first crafting tutorial to share with you! So stay tuned!

Oh, you will need some basic sewing skills to complete this tutorial so I recommend Disney's from Ruffles and Stuff sewing primer if you want to know where to get started.

baby-sitting on new year's eve

I was slightly bummed out when I found out that the husbandman's grad school application were due tomorrow, thus cancelling any new year's eve plans. (Our first new year's eve as over 21's I might add.) But then I found out that my brother and his wife were bringing their beautiful baby girl over to spend the night at my parent's house.  My night was made!

I work in a day-care with kiddos only slightly older than Miss G, so everything she doesn't shouldn't awe me.  But it does.  How fast she moves, how well she stands up, how expressive she is, how determined she is, how long her reach is.  All these things made me smile in wonderment. What a precious thing a child is, what an amazing creation.

I could watch Miss G for hours and still be blown away by each little thing she does. And she's not even mine.  What a powerful thing God has given in the heart of the motherly. How well he knew us, even when the kids at the day-care do everything they can think of to drive me insane, my heart still melts when they bump their heads, or when a mean name is thrown their way.

I could not think of a better way to spend the new year than with family, those who raised me, and those I will help raise. No its not they typical new year's night, no we may not even last till midnight, but it is a wonderful beginning filled with hope and love.

Our Anniversary

Yesterday was our first anniversary! Yay!! And I just wanted to send a thank you to my wonderful husband for all that he does.  (And to kinda aplogize that he has Christmas, our anniversary, and my birthday all within 16 days. I swear I didn't plan it that way!)

Thank You Husband man for; (yes this will be mushy and lovey-dovey, skip it if you can't handle it)

bringing me books that are closer to me than they are to you, just because I don't want to get out of my cozy nest.
taking me out to a sea-food restaurant when you don't like fish.
hugs and kisses whenever I need them.
constant love and affrimation that need and appirecate me.
letting me sneak bows and pink flowers into my crafting nook.
letting me talk you into buying candy even though we only came to the grocery store for one thing.
opening your presents early so I can too, just becuase I can't wait any longer.
for not getting exsaperated when I fall asleep during the movie I swore I could stay awake through.
for loving me always, for making me special, for treating me like a princess, and for being the only man I could ever imagine myself married to.

I love you husbandman. Thank you for an amazing year, and a delightful day which made me fall even more deeply in love. (yes, all that happened yesterday),

My first Blog

I started another small, part time blog, and would love to share it if anyone has an interest in looking.  It was all about my Christmas Crafting for the husbandman and my first Christmas!

I would love to know what you think.

Welcome to the Wifedom

For my first post, I thought I would start at the beginning and tell you why I created this blog.
This is a chance for me (who tends to be rather shy) to reach out and make the first step. This is a chance for me to share what I have created in a safe place. I can and will put my thoughts, hopes, and creations out there for the world to see.
I hope that this blog will help others to start their own creations, whether it is a small sewing piece, a new crocheted handbag, a drawing, a blog of their own, or even just a clean place to start crafting and dreaming. I believe that art is whatever the maker believes it to be. A tidy kitchen is a work or art, a happy family is a masterpiece. And if I can manage to spread this idea of hope and confidence to even just a handful of readers I will consider it to be a success and my goals to be met.

I also hope to make friends, find new ideas, and create a safe bubble for all to gather and share, dream and make, laugh and learn. This is my wifedom, and I want it to be as welcoming and homey as Donna Reed's kitchen or my parents front porch.
